Terms of Use
Mandrin (“we”, “the collective”) is a student-run, volunteer tech collective. By using this website, applying to join, or participating in our Discord and events, you agree to these terms.
Applications. Applying does not guarantee membership. We review applications at our sole discretion and may reject or waitlist applicants for any reason. We aim to respond within five days and to give feedback either way.
Membership. Membership is voluntary and can be ended by you at any time. We may remove members who violate our community rules or harm other members.
Your work stays yours. Projects you build as a member belong entirely to you unless you explicitly agree otherwise (e.g., an open-source contribution under a license). Mandrin claims no ownership of member projects.
No warranty. This website and our services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are students, not a company.
Changes. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on this page with a new date above.
Community Rules
Be decent. No harassment, hate speech, discrimination, spam, or unsolicited self-promotion. Plagiarism — passing off others' work as your own in applications or projects — is grounds for rejection/removal. Keep discussions on-topic and help beginners; everyone started somewhere.
Privacy Policy
What we collect. When you apply, we store the details you submit: email address, name (optional), school (optional), year, the space you're applying to, your interests, and your application message. That's it — we don't use analytics, advertising cookies, or third-party trackers on this site.
Why we collect it. Exclusively to evaluate your application and contact you about it. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. Ever.
Where it lives. Application data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon and served through our deployment on Render. Access is restricted to the founders behind a token-protected admin interface.
How long we keep it. Applications are kept while the cohort is forming and deleted after decisions are communicated, unless you ask us to keep you on file for future cohorts.
Discord. If you join our Discord server, that platform's own privacy policy also applies to your activity there.
Your rights. Want your application data deleted or exported? Email us via the address on your application or ask any founder in the Discord and we'll handle it promptly.
